Default check engine light blinking - 12-23-2009, 02:46 PM

Guys have had question for you all.
I went the dealer last week and got them to do my oil change. So yesterday I started my car around 2pm and when I started my car I noticed the check engine light was blinking up until the car engine reved lower and the light dissapeared. Just wanted to know if I should be concerned about this or is this normal.

Thanks

It was blinking. What would I need it to get towed? I think I will just go in for a checkup.

I had a CEL at a cold start once but after a while it cleared on its own(before I could bring it in) and it hasn't appeared since.

As long as its not continually flashing now then technically it should be ok to drive but should be checked asap. Correct me if im wrong but does a flashing CEL usually represent a misfire currently happening.

Also, if the light doesnt stay solid after then the code is probably cleared from memory but I would think a flashing CEL would stay logged for at least a few start-stop cycles.
